A first look at Digital Intelligence, a different
architecture from the neural networks behind ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, and
every other large model.
Adam runs on a DENN, a Digitally Emulated Neural Network. It works as
closely as it can to the way a biological organism would handle the same
task. It learned handwritten digits with no labels and no answers handed to
it. Everything happens on your device, live in your browser. Nothing is sent
anywhere.
What you are looking at
One hundred neurons. Each one taught itself to respond to some pattern of
ink. The grid shows how often each fired while looking at the frame. The
bars show how closely that firing pattern matches each digit.
Adam shows you what a shape resembles instead of forcing out one
answer.
The control
The Control button runs the same readout on an untrained network. If the
scores come out close, the readout is doing the work and not the network. It
is here so you can check the claim rather than take it.
Try it with
A digit centred, upright, and roughly filling the frame. Adam is a
pattern matcher and it falls off when a digit is small, tilted, or off to
the side.
